Nairobi Housing

Abstract:
By supplying an infrastructure that would integrate a MARKET, EDUCATION and housing I will increase the SENSE OF COMMUNITY by networking these programs together. A dynamic place of exchange will boost the net gain of the market economy. By doing so this makes those businesses formal, and thereby puts profit back into the infrastructure. For the large percentage of children that have not been able to continue to a secondary education , this income will be used to help supplement funding for school.

Context/Problem/Opportunity:
Nairobi is a city exploding with an influx of urbanism; its citizens are striving to maintain their traditional values as their city progresses into the future.

Due to the decrease in social INTERACTION High-rise living in the past hasn’t worked all that well. This SENSE OF COMMUNITY along with intigrating EDUCATION and space for commerce.  a Nairobi's market economy is restricting the city’s benefits from possible tax revenue. This is causing a shortage in social programs that could help supply housing or education at a secondary level. The market economy has a low percentage that is formal (taxable) and a larger percentages that is informal. This informal market has the potential to supplement a secondary education through its conversion into a formal market.
